The Seaside Escape of Aracaju on 06/04/10

Aracaju, the capital of Sergipe, has long been considered one of the best places to live in all of Brazil. This great seaside city offers visitors and locals' alike great beaches, outdoor activities, museums, an aquarium and more. Sailing is by far the city's most popular water actitivity. The city is most well known for it pretty and accessible beaches, which include both continental and island escapes. Atalaia Nova, located on Santa Luzia Island and the much livelier Robalo beach, are the most popular beaches in the area. 

The beach of Atalaia Nova has been left almost completely undisturbed by man and offers visitors spacious pockets of beach with coconut palms and sand dunes. In order to access the island you must take a brief, but lovely ride by boat over to the beaches. Once there you can enjoy pristine and quiet beaches, as you stroll on the soft sands.

The beach of Robalo, on the other hand is filled with people and a much more exciting seen. Atalaia Beach itself however is the most popular. Atalaia Beach is the most urbanized of all the beaches in the area and offers visitors the chance to enjoy bars, restaurants, hotels and outdoor sports.
