Best Beaches in Arraial D'ajuda on 06/04/10 by Alexandria Prain

arraialdajuda

Situated close to Porto Seguro in the Brazilian state of Bahia, is the charming and rustic town of Arraial D'ajuda. This beautiful colonial town has long been famous for its religious celebrations and even more so for its stunning collection of beaches. In fact the area boasts so many impressively beautiful beaches that it would takes pages to list them all. Here we have composed a short list of our absolute favorites, each with its own special cork:

  1. Pitinga Beach: This beach is considered the most beautiful of all the beaches in the Arraial area. At low tide, beachgoers can swim in natural pools and enjoy the extremely soft sands. A little south on the calmer stretch of sand there is a nude area, as well.

  2. Apaga Fogo Beach: A sports lover's paradise, Apaga Fogo offers great swimming, kayaking, windsurfing, jet skiing and fishing. Also, during low tide, the reed provides visitors with great little tide pools to sit and enjoy.

  3. Taipe Beach: A unique beach thanks to its isolation by high cliffs, Taipe beach is a tranquil area with open sea, large waves and great fishing. The beach attracts a few nudists, as well as sea turles during spawning season. It also provides hour kiosks with bar and restaurant services, restrooms and a parking area.

  4. Aracaipe Beach: If you are a shell lover, Aracaipe beach is your oasis. Here the sea is tranquil and the stunning reef provides not only refreshing natural pools, but also great places for seashell collecting.

  5. Parracho Beach: A diver's paradise, Parracho Beach has perfectly calm and clear waters perfect for exploring the open sea. The kiosks on the beach also rent equipment for tourists.
