Parque das Mangabeiras: Spread out over 2.3 million square miles, this park is one of the largest urban parks in all of Brazil. While most of the park is covered by natural forest, there are a number of lovely walkways to explore.
Bolao: A popular bar, located in a quaint neighborhood, Bolao is the place where the locals both finish the evening and start their day. The bar has been serving booze and delicious Brazilian cuisine since 1961.
Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Congonhas: Just south of Belo Horizonte, the church was built in the second half of the 18th century. It contains an Italian inspired Rococo interior, an outdoor stairway that is ornamented with statues of prophets, and seven chapels that illustrate the Stations of the Cross.
Praca Da Liberdade: Also known as the Square of Freedom, this architectural and landscape complex, inspired by the Palace of Versailles, is absolutely breathtaking. It is filled with imperial palm tress, a number of gazebos, and stunning fountains and sculptures.
Mercado Central: A great place for tourists and locals alike, you can find nearly anything in the central market. From fruits and vegetables, to live animals and art this 400-store market has nearly all the products you could ever need.
