My friends styaed at the Peace and Love hostel, and they too loved it. The people who work there were really cool, and you're able to just chill in the bar downstairs after a long day of whatever. The best hostel that I styaed in while in Paris was Montclair Montmartre, basically in the centre of Montmartre so it was really close to Sacre-Coeur. I found that no matter where you styaed you meet new crazy people, so hopefully you'll be up to meeting new people.I'd double check guideforeurope.com/ for more information on different hostels too. Have fun!!And do try to speak a bit of french, people will be soooo much kinder to you and will try to help you more if you try and speak their language. Between you trying theirs, and them trying yours, you'll be fine.

We were going to go there but we had a pouring down rain day. I'm sorry I miessd it. The next day though was beautiful and we drove to Mt. St. Michele. So I DID get my exercise in! Lovely photos.

I was in Paris for a week last summer and I do not speak French. The only two words that I used in French were Bonjour and mercy and that was enoguh. I visited major turisty Paris attractions, ordered food in restaurants without any communication problems. No one treated me as ugly american . Though, I still have a Russian accent:-) The only problem during the whole trip I encountered was finding luggage lockers in Paris Train Station before going for 2 days to Brussels. I spent 45 min asking and searching and finally gave up and locked my luggage when I came to Brussel Train station.
