While lacking in the unnecessary distractions of the developed and urban world, Jericoaroara has more than its fair share of wonderful outdoor activities that will keep you entertained for days. The area is by far one of the world's most famed spots for windsurfing, and is Brazil's most popular destination for the sport. Kitesurfing is also a favorite among tourists and locals. There are a number of great and calmer places to practice your novice skills, as well. Another favorite activity in the area is Capoeira, the Brazilian fight/dance that was brought over by slaves from Africa.

Just twenty minutes outside of the village, visitors can experience the opportunity to kayak through an amazing mangrove landscape and discover the Mangue Seco from a different angle. Also just outside of town on "Sunset Dune", guests can strap into some boards and head down the steep sand dunes. A sport similar to snowboarding, sand boarding is great fun and requires simply strapping your bare feet into a snowboard like set-up.

Other great activities in the area include surfing, dune buggy tours and horseback riding. No matter what your outdoor sport of choice is, you can rest assured that you will be highly entertained during your time in Jericoacoara. Come and settle in to a different type of lifestyle!
