- Corcovado- Christ the Redeemer: the century old Corcovado train that takes visitors up to the enormous white Christ the Redeemer statue is definitely worth ta ride. The train is the oldest tourist ride in all of Brazil and the monument is one of the most beloved and well-known symbols of the entire city, paying homage to Rio de Janiero's religiousness.
- Carnaval: If you can make it to the city for this world-famous party in February, it is definitely a once and a lifetime experience. The festival is by far the largest event that occurs in Rio and is one of the world's most impressive showcases of Samba dancing. During the party, the samba schools of the city have a parade, exhibiting 14 groups each day who shake their hips and bodies in colorful costumes all down the street, as well as perform in the Sambadromo.
- Ipanema: Offering beautiful sand, water and bodies, this world-famous beach has more than enough reasons to have such a famous song written about it. Stunning Ipanema is the place to people watch, as well as enjoy fashionable streets with chic and modern boutiques, delicious and trendy restaurants and hip bars and clubs. Make sure not to miss out on the Sunday hippie market!
- Copacabana: The other world-famous beach of Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana has it all. From mountains to city, to beautiful waters and sand, this area is a must see during your time in the city. - Sugar Loaf Mountain: Pao de Acucar: The landmark of Rio, Sugar Loaf Mountain is the most stunning place to see the city, ocean and mountain ranges around Rio de Janiero. For a truly breathtaking view of Guanabara Bay, Botafogo beach and Copacabana, make sure to take the funicular ride up the mountain.
