Panama Canal Taxi ride. Recommend to bargain prices.
You can go as low as 7 USD from the city. They usually ask for 10 USD
To get in and see the canal you can pay 5 USD to just see it. If you pay 8 USD they get yo into this Exhibition Theater which we did not thought off to much. Its nice to see and get some extra info, but you can find it in Google just as easy.
out 1800 trucks can should be transporting this. Damn !!
Darna Cafe - Located in Paitilla next to the Paitia mall. Tell the taxi driver to drive you to Pailtilla to farmacia " el Javillo"
Its a very homie cafe and a good place to sit with Wifi. Best home made bread and pastry products. Darna has the best soups in Panama City.
Darna is number 1 in Service. Its just you feel in Europe suddenly

Oh my, if you want some prodcuts from all over the world, this is the place.
Amazing cheescake and great coffee. Excellent Pasta, granolas, special internation drinks , dry fruit and special local brands you will be surprise to find from your home country.

Jimmy Parilla Restaurant - Its the best food in Panama City. We reccommend Tsasiki and excellent greek chopped Salad. We also had the best Steak and Fish here.
do not mistake the 4 Jimmy in Panama. Its the Jimmy in San Francisco area in Coco del Mar.
Night life in Panama City
Uruguay Street - This is where all the main clubs and dance places are in Panama City. Its located just off the costanera. Worth checking.
Hard Rock cafe - in La costera, just right now Multi center shopping mall.
Great America food and cocktails. Very loud music. Very cheesy. Kinda cool for now.
Via Argentina - Find Restaurants, bars and cafes
Hostel Mamallena - is where it all happens for backpackers
Budget Hotel Andino in Bella Vista Panama City - This is the most reccommended
budget hotel. Its cheap hotel but the facilities are amazing.

Best thing to do in Panama city beach:::::Last spring my flimay and I discovered the sailboat Wysteria docked behind the Boatyard Restaurant. I called the number on the sign and spoke with Bo, a friendly native of Panama City Beach. I was interested in a tour of Shell Island. Bo met us at the sailboat and gave us a tour- I was hooked! My two kids tested the softness of the beds, couch and chairs. My wife took a seat on the bow, the breeze in her hair. And I stood behind the wheel, ready to sail. We made a Shell Island tour reservation on a sunset charter for the next evening. Our captain was Marty, a sometimes cheeky fellow with a thunderous laugh and a contagious smile. As the sailboat backed away from the dock, I knew we were in for a treat! Capt. Marty pointed out St. Andrews State Park, Bay Point and other points of interest as we left the Grand Lagoon. He then prepared to raise the sails, asking if I had any sailing experience. I did not, but was eager to learn. Capt. Marty instructed me throughout the Shell Island tour, allowing me and my oldest to crank the wenches and take the wheel. It wasn’t an hour into the tour when my wife, perched for sunning on the bow, pointed and hollered, “Dolphins!” Capt. Marty steered us thru St. Andrews Bay for our first ever dolphin encounter. There were at least five dolphins to observe! The kids were beside themselves with excitement when the dolphins swam alongside the sailboat. The Gulf of Mexico was calm enough for Capt. Marty to take us thru the pass as Mother Nature showed off with a breath-taking sunset on the ocean. Our tour of Shell Island aboard the sailboat Wysteria made for our best vacation yet. I can’t say enough good things about choosing this sailboat tour of Shell Island!

there's no need for reservations, just show up and go. I'd check out the aervntude motorcycling handbook for a journey like this as crossing the Darien is only one of many concerns. Of course if you're going from Columbia to Panama you could always consider actually going thru the gap you wouldn't be riding and there has only be a few hardy souls that would have gone before you but hey, that's aervntude isn't it? You can't go (currently so the story goes) from Panama to Columbia as Panamanian officials will turn you back. Hopefully they'd let you into the country if you were going the other way.

See 1st site below and read the section tteild "By Car." 2nd site is a blog with many comments on this subject. 3rd site info makes it look like it is no at all possible. 4th site offers a bit of hope. Anyway, there is no longer a ferry, and you have to find a bot to take you. This can be vey risky as these sites all say.
