Sao Paolo on 29/03/10

sao paolo

Sao Paulo is truly one of the most diverse cultural cities on earth. Home to more ethnic groups than any other region in the world, this rich city offers visitors a unique array of cultural experiences.

The old part of Sao Paulo consists of an airy esplanade and a few buildings called the Patio of Colegio. There, you can find the Casa de Anchieta, a museum dedicated to the history of the construction of Sao Paulo. The museum exhibits artifacts from the everyday life of inhabitants from the first colonists up to the mid-19th century!

Another cultural district is the area of Liberdade, which is filled with Japanese immigrant culture. To this day you can still witness the Japanese origins intact throughout the area and the street panels have Japanese indications.

The area of Bela Vista or Bixiga, is the Italian district, while in the neighborhood of Bon Retiro you can encounter kept numerous signs of its Arabic and Lebanese past.  You can meet Jewish, Muslim and Christian merchants sipping their coffee and talking as if the conflicts in the Middle-East had never existed.

Of course, there is more to do in Sao Paolo than visit the different cultural neighborhoods and try the array of new foods!  Vila Madalena is a neighborhood of the Pinheiros district, located in the western part of the city of São Paulo, Brazil. The neighborhood is known for its bustling nightlife with most of its bars on street Aspicuelta. If you have time, you can try a new bar every day.

It is also known as the center of São Paulo bohemian culture and art. The neighborhood is filled with dozens of art galleries and studios, an eclectic mix of restaurants and bars and also boasts a series of impressive graffiti-covered streets and alleys.

For a greener activity, visit some of the many parks and museums that attract a large number of visitors every day. Sao Paulo also has one of the largest Zoos in the world. It is situated in the Parque Estudial das Fontas do Ipiranga. The Jardim Zoologico contains some 3,500 animals and attracts 2,500,000 visitors every year.
