Head into Iguacu National Park, where you can get an excellent view of Devil’s throat, the most famous of the falls, from both above and below.
Inside the park, make your way to Las Cateratas station where whitewater rafting and other water adventure activities are offered.
For those looking for a calmer aquatic experience, spectacular boat trips and photo safaris are also offered from other points within the park.
Hungry from all that hiking? A buffet stands right next to the Throat. Ease your hunger while taking in spectacular and surreal views.
Travel the 3 Frontiers Circuit, where the Tancedo Neves International Bridge joins Foz do Iguacu with Puerto Iguazu in Argentina, then connects with Ciudad del Esta through the Friendship Bridge in Paraguay. The entire trip is 30 km and visitors can enjoy panoramic views from the bridges.

| When to go: |
The climate in Foz do Iguacu is humid subtropical, and the summers (Dec-Feb) can get extremely hot, making them not an ideal time to go. Humidity is high year-round and rainfall does not vary much from season to season. Your best bet for nice, mild temperatures suitable for hiking the falls is to go in the winter (June-August).

|
| How to get there: |
Foz do Iguacu can be reached inexpensively by bus, but only if time is not an issue. The nearest city is Curitiba, a 7 hour bus trip. For a less cheap but far more time-efficient option, there are regular flights from Rio de Janiero. Alternatively, Foz do Iguacu can be crossed into from the Argentine side of the falls, Puerto Iguazu. Travelers from the United States should be careful taking this route as reports are mixed regarding Brazilian Visa checks at this crossing.

| Visa Information: |
US Citizens require a visa in order to enter Brazil. Citizens of Israel, Great Britain, and most EU countries do not require a visa for a stay of up to 90 days. If you are in doubt about whether you require a visa to enter Brazil, check online with your embassy.

|
| Tipping: |
At restaurants a service charge of approximately 10% is generally added to the bill. It is always identified that this charge is not obligatory, and any more than this is certainly not expected. Taxi drivers do not expect to be tipped, but fares may be rounded up to the nearest Real so no one has to deal with change.
