  My wife and I stayed at Gringo Pete's Too because it offered 3 to a room with private bath and we were traveling with 4 teenagers. We all enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place. We wanted to give the kids a "hostel" experience so they would know what to look for on their own travels around the world. Great view, close to great Sodas (eateries) and shopping.

  Gringo Pete's was great! It's very cute and clean and easy to function in. NIcely equipped kitchen. had a washer and line to dry clothes. felt safe. A pit to bbq. great offers on surrounding tours and helpful with information. If you're nice and courteous the staff will be friendly and courteous back. It's a great space for a great price. I wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else and will definitely go back if I revisit La Fortuna!

  First time I actually visit Gringo Petes hostel was at 2003. Marta was so nice to us. Well, just passed by again August 2009 and guess what, the hostel is just as the original only with facilities that are nicer. I vote for Gringo Petes to be number 1 budget hostel in the area and also the friendliest.
