Hostel Huauki was designed by an Ecuadorian artist with experience in travel and tourism. Great efforts were made to preserve the historical style and cultural heritage of the building and decor. The name of the hostel, Huauki, means ?brother? in Quichua, the indigenous language of Ecuador.
Located in the center of La Mariscal, Hostel Huauki is close to all the cool bars, restaurants and museums. We are in a quiet and calm area so that you will feel safe and our reception is open 24 hours a day. Budget travelers and backpackers will appreciate our inexpensive room rates!

How to get to Hostal Huauki.
The easiest way to get to our hostel is taking a taxi from Airport. It is really close to our hostal from airport, in quito. The cost of taxi will not exceed $7 and you can get to our hostel less than 15 minutes. You just tell taxi driver to take Joaquin Pinto y Diego de Almagro (corner).
If you come to our hostel by bus, from the terminal Quitumbe (south), you must take the Trolebus to the north and get out at the Cristóbal Colón stop, walk east until you reach calle Diego de Almagro turn right until you reach calle Joaquin Pinto. It will 50 or 60 minutes to get to our hostel.
If you come to our hostel by bus, from the terminal Carcelén (north), you must take the Metrobus to the south and get out at Seminario Mayor stop, walk east until you reach Calle Diego de Almagro turn right until you reach Calle Joaquin Pinto. It will 45 or 50 minutes to get to our hostel.

Huauki Hostal is another great hostel located in the Mariscal area of Quito. It is a very artistic place designed with the Ecuadorian culture taken into consideration. In the area you will find many bars and restaurants together with a nice market. The hostel offers Spanish classes, a restaurant, wifi, Internet, laundry and a travel agency.

I booked a single private but when I arrived they did not have the room available so I ended up in a dorm. There was mold on the ceiling. The following day I was moved to Huauki 2 a few blocks away to the type of room I was expecting and it was cleaner. I wish minihostels would have better communication with the hostel regarding what was actually available. I would stay at Huauki 2 again, but probably not at the original Huauki. The staff was friendly and helpful especially the second day.

A clean, comfortable hostel located right in the heart of Plaza Foch. A stones throw away from all the best restaurants and nightclubs. The staff are really friendly. Brekkie is only $2 and theres free internet! The best place Ive stayed in a long time =)

reservamos ahí porque según mh, tiene tarjeta de crédito. al llegar, a las 7am, nos dicen que no aceptan tarjeta. que de ninguna manera hacen una exepción. mi novia va al baño del lobby y vuelve casi espantada de la suciedad. así que, inmediatamente, nos fuimos. llegamos a la poasada del male, que es espectacular, acepta tarjeta, la atienden 3 mujeres muy amables y el desayuno es riquísimo!
