Rancho Urbano Hostel in Buenos Aires
- Av. Corrientes 4139
- Buenos Aires, Argentina
Unlike other hostels that are refurbished ancestral homes, the Rancho Urbano Hostel in Buenos Aires is really a building built to be a hotel, rather than a homestead.
Built in the 1930's, the building was revonated recently, to accomodate the rising number of guests that want to take advantage of the comfortable, large, and nice hostel, which can hold a maximum of one hundred guests.
The hostel is located in the more traditional street in the city. It has single, double, triple, and quadruple private rooms that come with or without private bathrooms; all of them have security lockers for personal belongings. Each room is also fully furnished with a Cable TV, WiFi Internet Access, and DVD players. Linens come free of charge. The hostel also has a barbecue area for guests who want to partake grilled food, a large common room for all guests to mingle, a fully furnished kitchen for those who'd like to cook their own food, and a library for those who'd like to sample a taste of Argentina literature. read more

The place is charming! The Rancho Urbano is really a cut out of a history book. I expected it to smell musky and "old," but I was pleasantly surprised to find that while the decors and ambiance is beautifully traditional, technology and convenience are still available. The WiFi connection works most of the time, and the rooms were clean. The staff were friendly and polite too. A highly recommended place!
