I loved my stay at Gallery House Peru. I find the place very inspiring and warm. With super comfortable mattress, hopping into bed was such bliss. And the weekly shows were delightful. Highly recommended!

Staff are very helpful.Good location away from the main drag but not too far to walk. Chilled atmosphere.Great place to start in South America.

An inexpensive party hostel. It's on a very noisy road so bring earplugs and eyemask to block out flashing lights. Double en-suite room is big, comfy bed but underneath has about 6 months rubbish, bathroom full of black mould, very smelly and dirty, towels were clean though! I did mention it to the staff, I don't think they had time to clean it, so busy with so many check outs. They ran out of gas for our first day, so no hot shower in the evening or following morning, did get a very hot shower the second day. There is definitely not enough staff to keep this large hostel clean and tidy, the young lad Alex was rushed off his feet trying to do the check ins, rooms, and answer the phone, not at all fair, he was very sweet and shared some cake with us. All the other hostels we've had in 6 months, have cleaning people and the Peruvian ones have been spotless except this one, get some staff to help out on the cleaning front! The flower beds at the front are used as ashtrays, a bit of a shame, it spoils the look, could be a good hostel with a good clean up, it has loads of space in the lounges. Taxis were prebooked for airport transfers, both arrived on time, thank you, $18 dollars. Not far too walk to the beach, some great shops and markets in the city centre, and plazas, had a look at the flying dog hostel, spotlessly clean, and very friendly. Not in the bar, cafe, restaurant area if you want to eat out at night, stay in the Kennedy Park area.

Good safe locartion close to nice coastline & gardens. Staff spoke good english and very helpful, although allow loud parties to go on through the night even on weekdays, inlcuding one member of staff bringing his loud friends back at 4/5am after a night out to continue the loud party which echoed through the whole building. Two very poor nights sleep even with ear plugs. Apparantly Friday & Saturday the party starts at midnight untill the sun rises. If you want a party hostel then this place is good for you, if you want a good nights sleep, look elsewhere....
