In April 2007 Palermo ArtHostel opened its doors, a new concept in accommodation. It is considered the first cultural hostel in Uruguay and it is situated right in the centre of Palermo neighbourhood, Montevideo capital.

The hostel has capacity for up to 34 people, the beds are distributed in rooms that can be singles or shared. It also has 4 bathrooms and a lounge, plus reception service, Wi-Fi 24 hrs., tourist information, among other services, all at a low price for the budget backpacker.

What makes Palermo ArtHostel a unique place is its multicultural space, which promotes a wide variety of art trends.

Photographic and painting exhibitions, book presentations, video clips, short films, and a big mural made by Sebastián Sáez, are some of the many cultural expressions that our guests will enjoy while having a drink at the bar.

There are over 250 m2 which are reserved for art, where you can find art exhibitions not only from local artists but also from those guests who wish to expose their own works.

Palermo ArtHostel is not only a hostel but a cultural bridge between montevideans and international travelers, providing the possibility of exchanging the different forms of expression all over the world.
