| When to go: |
Puerto Natales has a cold, wet climate most of the year. Despite this unappealing weather, the sites are truly beautiful and well-worth packing for the rain. In the winter (Jun-Aug) temperatures can reach below 0 and snow and ice storms may exist at higher altitudes.

|
| How to get there: |
The cheapest and easiest way to travel to Puerto Natales is by bus. There are several bus companies connecting Puerto Natales to other cities in Chile and even long distances can be covered relatively inexpensively and in comfort. If you are looking to fly, or coming in from another country, you can fly into the Puntas Arenas airport (see above), take a taxi or bus 18 km from the airport into Punta Arenas, and then catch a bus the remaining 247 km to Puerto Natales.
