The house was built between the years 1930 and 1935 by Don Juan Hitschfeld Opitz, a farmer from the area with extraordinary building abilities.
So it was for more than 70 years, built next to the Omama Cristina, with its original foundations, walls and ceiling with traditional German architecture.
In the year 1995 the house was restored and rehabilitated by Renato Westermeier Hitschefeld, son of the owner, into Hostel Opapa Juan. Come see our history and enjoy your vacation for our great low prices during your adventures backpacking Puerto Varas.
