Brand new hostel, opened in November for the new summer season. Whatever your preferred method of travel, the hostel gives you the chance to find what you are looking for, and fill your own days with sun and new friends in a really lovely beach town.
El Diablo Tranquilo provides a wide variety of accommodations, services, adventures, and memories to travelers. Before choosing your lodging find yourself at home in our spacious lobby, surrounded by 16 foot high windows looking seaward, a massive hearth and fireplace in front of cozy sofas, an antique but still rockin’ futbolito, and the always friendly faces found at our reception desk. Above you’ll find a lofted internet lounge and beyond that the intricacies of our traditionally woven thatch roof. Additional communal areas include several terraces, a kitchen, book nook, and the picnic balcony. Now we invite you to settle in to the lodging of your choice, cheap mixed or female dorms, inexpensive private singles, doubles, triple, or - for a real treat - book yourself into one of our suites and enjoy a private fireplace, full bath, ocean views, and your own balcony to doze away enveloped in a hammock.

Hostel guest or not, you can also enjoy The Bar. Located on the beach just one block from The Hostel, it has 3 floors of beach party. So, sip a cold beer, or sample mixed drinks from the world over, while you shoot some pool, listen to some tunes, or even chill out in our 200 DVD strong ‘Cinema Room’ behind the curtain and in front of the big screen. And then there’s the food: Enjoy our local favorites and fresh seafood, taste home in one of our two daily ‘Platos del Dia’ each of which a foreign special, or head up to the terrace to nibble on some pizza and parilla under the sun or stars.

Above all we understand that your vacation will be defined by memories, and our goal is to provide you with what you need not just to eat and sleep, but to facilitate all those hard to place things that make a place stick with you. Those things which ensure that you leave Punta del Diablo as we did the first time; feeling tranquilo, brimming with stories to tell, and new friends made.
Compass How to get there
After arriving at the one and only bus stop in our throbbing metropolis, simply follow the main road down to the ocean. There you will see 'The Punta' and the artisan avenue that rolls down to the ocean. The road will pass the 'Playa de Pescadors' where the famous Punta boats sit on the beach. The road will curve up and to the left. At the first 'real' intersection take a right, and then take your first left. We are 1.5 blocks off the 'Playa Rivero.'

Great Getaway
I had such a great time in Punta del Diablo. This hostel was built to meet people, and the beaches make you feel like you are alone in the world. It was such a great combination. The hostel was great, a new building with huge windows looking to the ocean. I went for a night and stayed for four.
