Atrações Principais

(*)If you?re in town in December you?ll get to enjoy "La Feria de Cali,? with horseback riding parades, salsa concerts, bullfights, athletic competitions, and cultural exhibitions.

(*)Cali is also known as the "Capital de la Salsa," and if you?re traveling in July you can attend the Summer Salsa Festival, including concerts by great world salsa bands, dance shows, and competitions.

(*)Colombianos love their futbol, and Cali has two local teams that share a stadium. Games are mainly on Sundays, but the best time to see them is May-June and Nov-Dec when the teams are in playoffs, making games far more exciting.

(*)For some outdoor adventure, rent a bike and hit one of Cali?s excellent mountain biking trails.

(*)There are great winds in Cali nearly every day of the year, giving travelers a great opportunity to try some wind or kite surfing.

Quando ir

Cali is warm and humid year round due to its proximity to the equator. The dry season is referred to as ?summer? and the rainy season as ?winter.? The rainy seasons are typically from April to May and October to November, though rain may be expected at any time of year.

Como chegar

(bus) Inexpensive buses can be taken to Cali from most major cities in Colombia, and are certainly the best option for the backpackers. For those on a looser budget, flying is also an option. The Alfonso Bonilla Aragon International airport serves all domestic destinations and some international ones.

Informação de Vistos

Travelers from the US, Israel, and most European countries do not need a visa to enter Colombia. A tourist visa will be stamped in your passport at the border, usually for between 30 and 60 days.

Gratificação

In small restaurants a normal tip is COP 1000 or less. In nicer restaurants, wealthier Colombians tip around 10%, though more and more restaurants will add a ?service charge? onto your bill, in which case an added tip is neither expected nor required ? make sure to read your bill carefully. Taxi drivers do not receive tips. Hotel personnel generally do receive tips, depending on the service provided.
