"El Cruce" - the cross is the main central area of Mal Pais and is where you find your self arriving fro Paquera after taking the ferry from Punta Arenas

Santa Teresa is a very special community of surfers mostly from Argentina, Israel, USA and local Ticos.

In "el cruce" you can find banks and some shops for shopping.

You can find Franks places which is a hotel just in the cruce. Only in pick season when all hostels are full you should try franks place.

The road between Mal Pais and Santa Teresa is usuall very dasty, unless it is raining.

Funkey Monkey hostel is a cheap hotel in Santa Teresa and is highly recommended.
