This was the best way to check out Buenos Aires as a traveller. We went from total beginners to being able to hold our own in traveller situations. The confidence it gave us meant we were able to pick up more words as we kept travelling and we were chatting away with locals in Peru 6 weeks later. It also took us to parts of the city we wouldn't have found on our own.
It’s always better to live and breathe a new city as much as the locals do. My 4-day course certainly felt like that. Agustina was the best kind of teacher too. Adapting to what I wanted to learn at a speed and variety that felt comfortably challenging, I got a sense and a flavour of each barrio we explored, as well as the intoxicating idiosyncrasies of a city constantly pulled in different directions by culture, politics and society. What we all want to do is express our individual passions as much as we can in the language of our host nation. This is exactly what I got out of Español Andando. Plus, where to find a tin of corned beef! I can’t speak for the other tutors. But, if you’re lucky enough to get Agustina, you will have a fantastic urban adventure.
