Hi
Going to be in BA from 26th Jan for 2 weeks, I wanna spend some time relaxing on a beach, any suggestions? Is the best place nearby punta del esta, though I expect that is quite pricey, and also getting to, and is it peak time there aswell? Thanks

Here are some beaches by Buenos Aires:

Mar del Plata: 6.5 hour train ride along the coast, Argentina, not supernice and kind of overrun now but pretty easy to get to

Punta del Este - supertrendy, where all the socialite portenos go for their summer break, Uruguay - 1-3 hour ferry and then a bus, very expensive in the summer season

Punta del Diablo - Uruguay, quieter and more tranquilo, ferry to Montevideo then a 3.5 hour bus but pretty nice and less expensive -

just another quick one, im just back from Rosario which is about 4hrs North of Buenos Aires and although its on the river Parana they have two lovely quite beachs there, also Rosario is a great city.

THE BEST BEACH BY FAAAR IS CABO POLONIO BEACH IN URUGUAY!
Harder to get to, not IN argentina, BUT, allmost no people,
great view, Clean water, great atmosphere...
PERFECT!
Totaly worth the extra mile! go there , and thank me later.

o, and there are not too many hostels over there,
maybe a couple, so you might consider bringing your
camping equipment...
WHICH MAKES IT SO MUCH MORE FUN !
