La Posta Hostel & Apart - “La Posta” is a hostel with deep Argentinean roots and customs. In the old days, the “postas” were located two or three leagues one from another and the “Gauchos” stopped there to change horses which were for carting or mailing. Take the End of the World Train to Tierra del Fuego National Park. The train was originally built by the prisoners who first colonized Ushuaia.
Go skiing at Glaciar Martial, a glacier which can also be visited in the summer, when the chairlift operates in both directions. Hiking trails lead from the city's edge to the base of the glacier, which has shrunk dramatically over the past century.
Rent a mountain bike and go on one of several full-day excursions allowing you to enjoy the unique terrain of Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego.
Take a guided photo safari and capture the birds, animals, and unique natural landscapes of the area on film.
Hop in a canoe or kayak and spend the day rowing around while connecting with nature and observing marine fauna.

It will save you days of travel though if you take the far-shorter though not as low-priced flight, available from Buenos Aires and Santiago, Chile.
