Amerispan places people in different volunteer, language, or study abroad programs around the world. In Bogota they are working with an orphanage that gives children who have been removed from or forced to leave their homes for various reasons a place to live. Their end-goal is to provide therapy for the children so that they may be reunited with their families. If this is not possible, the children are placed in foster homes. Volunteers work in differing roles depending on background and education but you could be doing anything from teaching English to assisting in the psychology or nursing departments. The program requires an intermediate level of Spanish and a 4 week commitment.

Fundacion ProAves Â? Volunteers will assist in the cultivation process of this shade-grown coffee that provides essential wintering habitats for the threatened Cerulean Warbler bird.
