In addition to its natual beauty and spectacular beaches, Montezuma has charmed visitors with its alternative vibe. The center of this small town is a people-watcherŽs paradise! And after the sun sets, Montezuma is the place to be on the peninsula, with a handful of bars and discos to be found throughout the village.
Probably the most famous attraction in this area are the waterfalls. There are 3 sets of falls flowing into each other with pools to swim in at the bottom of each one. Note that it's a very steep, somewhat dangerous climb to the second part of the falls. If youŽre not inclined to climb all the way to the top, you can still enjoy watching the view and the brave souls jumping off the highest rocks from below!
Other spots worth checking out are the Cabo Blanco National Park, Isla Tortuga and the Curu Wildlife Reserve. The miles of nearly abandoned beaches, jungle waterfalls and rich wildlife make Montezuma a favorite stop for many travelers.
When to go
The dry season in Montezuma is between December and April. Although the rest of the year brings more rain, prices are lower and the town is less crowded with tourists.
